The primary goals of the Parent Association Reps are to build community by encouraging partnership and cooperation among the entire school community; facilitate communication; and encourage and coordinate volunteerism. Additionally, the Parent Association should help foster a spirit of inclusion and to provide parent education opportunities.
The Parent Association will organize faculty appreciation, class socials, and encourage participation in Gates School activities such as Walk in the Shoes, PI Day, Arts Fest and other community building events.
For the community and parents: Join a School Committee:
- Marketing & Community Outreach: The Gates School aspires to be a key regional resource for dyslexia. Helping with awareness, early detection, training, and education we will be immensely beneficial to the Lowcountry community. Volunteers are needed to assist with strategy, implementation of marketing efforts, “opening doors”, and much more.
- Fundraising & Sponsorship: The Gates School is a 501 ( c )3 not for profit educational organization. Additional resources are needed to provide the evidenced-based, multisensory program found at the Gates School. Assistance is needed in writing grants, contacting local businesses and having conversations with philanthropic leaders in the community.
